Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is an autologous biomaterial obtained from the patient's blood by centrifugation, concentrating platelets in a fibrin matrix. This technique allows the release of growth factors essential for tissue regeneration, such as PDGF and TGF-β, which promote repair, healing and the formation of new blood vessels, making it a valuable resource in regenerative medicine and dentistry. The main objective of the study was to evaluate the impact of PRF on periodontal regeneration and rehabilitation, highlighting its use to promote the regeneration of tissues affected by periodontal diseases and improve the integration of dental implants. A quasi-experimental and longitudinal study was performed in 10 patients requiring bone regeneration, taking measurements at 2 and 4 months postoperatively. Variables evaluated included bone volume, bone density, bone texture and complications. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of FRP in improving the quality of regenerated bone, shortening recovery times and minimizing complications. In spite of the benefits, limitations in its application are recognized, such as the variability in effectiveness according to the preparation technique and patient characteristics. It is concluded that FRP has a positive impact on periodontal regeneration, although more long-term controlled studies are required to establish its efficacy in comparison with other regenerative techniques.
