Abstract

A clinical case is presented, based on the treatment of severe crowding with Class I Angle malocclusion, an alignment that allowed an adequate solution in the lower and anterior arch. Planning and good diagnosis are relevant, adopting therapy with gnathological models to obtain optimal results. Dental crowding is one of the most frequent reasons for consultation in patients treated in orthodontics, which can be treated with extraction and using NITI arch appliances and coordinated and settled steel arches. In the investigation, the case of orthodontic treatment with microdontia in tooth 22 is presented, likewise, it reports a functional state without alterations. At diagnosis, the brachyfacial type is established, with Angle Class I skeletal pattern. The treatment plan consisted of upper and lower fixed appliances with a NITI arch, efficient fixation of the 22 microdent tooth using a thread system, alignment and leveling with selective lower wear and embedding of a NITI wire on the interdental space. lower and upper, followed by the placement of a coordinated and seated steel arch; as well as the restraint applied was of the upper removable type and lower fixed restraint.
