Introduction: The presence of a child in the lives of most people is an extremely important element, mainly because of the multiple social and cultural meanings that it represents. Method: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out with prospective collection of information with the objective of characterizing, according to clinical-epidemiological variables, the infertile couples who are in the Infertility clinic, of the Guamá municipality in the period from June 2020 to June 2022. The study population consisted of all the infertile couples dispensed from the Guamá municipality, which yielded a figure of 95 couples (190 people). Results: The group of 35 to 39 years of age, bronchial asthma and other non- communicable diseases predominated; the presence of toxic habits in a non-negligible number of couples, as well as the existence of parasites and bacteria such as trichomona and gardenella are factors that could be related to infertility. Conclusions: It was recommended to carry out studies that cover the social determinants of the infertile population and allow us to delve into the issue of infertility and thereby draw up a strategy to reduce its prevalence in the population.
