ASSESSMENT OF THE PROFESSIONAL QUALITY OF LIFE OF MEDICAL STAFF TRAINING

Objective: Evaluate the Professional Quality of Life of medical personnel in training in a second level public hospital. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive study, Sample: 141 doctors: 55 interns, 47 residents of Family Medicine, 30 of Emergency and 9 of Internal Medicine. Measurement instrument: Professional Quality of Life Questionnaire 35 (QPL- 35) Results: 141 physicians from a second level hospital of the Mexican Social Security Institute were studied. Average age 26.6 years, 63.8% female. Fairly Professional Quality of Life was found in 62.4%, Some Managerial Support in 37.6%, Fairly Workload in 35.5% and Fairly Intrinsic Motivation in 42.6% Conclusions: The physician-in-training faces long working hours and has little time for activities other than medicine. Therefore, if you want quality health care, and professionals who are willing to give the best of themselves, consideration of their own quality of life must play an essential role.
