CHARACTERIZATION OF THE SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION OF BOLIVIA ON HEALTH

Introduction. The second most researched topic in Bolivia is medicine. The objective of the study was to characterize the trend of Bolivian scientific production on health. Method. For the bibliometric study, the Web of Science (2012-2021) was consulted. The search was made by Bolivia and health categories. For the analysis, the Bibliometrix/R program was used. Results. N= 679 articles. The annual growth was 3.99%. The largest production was centered on Bolivia (12.37%), Latin America (7.21%) and Chagas (5.74%). The most productive author was M. Sangueza from Hospital Obrero (3.97%). 94.40% of the works showed international collaboration, mainly with the United States (40.20%). The journal with the highest production and impact was Plos Neglected Tropical Diseases (6.48%). Conclusions. The change in growth trend in recent years shows Bolivia's effort to have better scientific evidence on health.
