Abstract

This study analyzes the export potential of Bolivian A2A2 natural milk, a healthier alternative to conventional milk due to the absence of beta-casein A1—a protein linked to digestive discomfort. The growing global demand for functional foods positions A2 milk as a promising export product, especially in countries like the United States, China, Germany, and Brazil.

The research focuses on local bovine breeds such as Girolando and Criollo, which naturally produce A2 milk, making Bolivia a low-cost, sustainable producer. This competitive advantage opens opportunities for differentiation and market entry without the need for genetic modification or intensive technological investment.

The paper also reviews the logistical, sanitary, and regulatory requirements for exporting A2 milk, and proposes a strategic roadmap involving certification processes, investment in cold chain infrastructure, international marketing, and public-private cooperation.
