Abstract
This research examines the opportunities and challenges faced by Bolivia in exporting beef to Chile, focusing on key factors affecting its competitiveness in this market. The study highlights Bolivia's strategic advantages, such as geographic proximity to Chile, relatively low production costs, and favorable international emand for beef. However, significant challenges include complying with strict regulations, improving logistical capacity, andenhancing the perceived quality and sustainability of Bolivian beef.
Through a comparative analysis with other exporting countries like Paraguay, and utilizing tools such as surveys and econometric analyses, critical areas for improvement are identified. These include innovation in production processes, marketing strategies, and adaptation to Chilean consumer preferences regarding traceability and labeling.
The findings suggest that while Bolivia has the potential to compete in the Chilean market, comprehensive strategies are essential. These should focus on productivity improvements, market diversification, and a positioning campaign that emphasizes the quality and benefits of Bolivian beef. Additionally, public policies supporting the industry are crucial to enhance competitiveness and capitalize on the growing global demand for beef.
This study underscores the importance of addressing regulatory, logistical, and perceptual barriers to ensure sustainable growth and successful market integration for Bolivian beef exports.
