Tectona grandis plantations are an economic high-value forestry alternative due to market demand; consequently, identifying the growth rate of plantations in Bolivia is important. This study aims to analyze the growth patterns of the twenty-three-year-old teak plantation in the municipality of Porongo, Santa Cruz, Bolivia, using dendrochronological techniques. Twenty-three discs were collected from a 32-ha plantation. The growth rings were dated, measured, and standardized using Cofecha and Arstan. Anatomical characteristics were identified according to the criteria of the International Association of Wood Anatomists (IAWA), and growth models were evaluated based on annual diametric increment. It was observed that the growth rings exhibited semi-ring porosity and, in some samples, diffuse porosity, with the presence of false rings and eccentric pith. The interseries chronology reported a correlation of 0.496, a mean sensitivity of 0.414, and an Expressed Population Signal (EPS) of 0.91. The mean annual diameter increment was 1.25 cm/year, with growth being more pronounced in the early years. The Gompertz and Logistic models showed the best fit (MSE = 7.15). Finally, T. grandis in the municipality of Porongo, Santa Cruz, exhibits accelerated initial growth followed by a progressive decline, with variable anatomical patterns and some pith eccentricity. These results allow us to conclude that the growth dynamics have been slower compared to other studies showing higher growth rates. Furthermore, the need to apply silvicultural practices (thinning, density control) to improve tree growth is highlighted.
